Uveitis is an auto-immune inflammation of the eye. Without treatment, it could lead to a number of long-term complications such as cataracts and glaucoma. Thanks to systemicimmunomodulatory therapy (IMT), the number of patients with complications of the disease who require intraocular surgery has reduced. However, since children do not experience pain or redness, their uveitis is not discovered for a long time. In these cases, patients present with a cataract at the time of their uveitis diagnosis.The aim of this study is to conduct retrospective chart review on patients who had a cataract at the time of their uveitis diagnosis and to report on their flare-ups, complications and vision after cataract surgery.
