Helping Alberta workers understand and access the rights and benefits to which they are entitled under employment-related legislation.
The Workers’ Resource Centre helps Alberta workers understand their rights, access their benefits, and file complaints and appeals with employment-related legislative bodies such as Employment Standards and the Alberta Human Rights Commission. We support workers in crisis, through discrimination, disability, job loss and more, helping them to understand their options and stand up for their rights when they've been treated unfairly. We also connect workers to social supports that help them to get by in times of crisis.
Our Public Legal Education program helps workers in Alberta to understand their rights and responsibilities in the workplace. Partnering with community organizations across the province, we provide free workshops that translating complex legal concepts into accessible information and empowers workers with knowledge that they can use to advocate for their rights in the workplace.
Our services are free to all Alberta workers.
