Habitat for Humanity (HFHPEI) is a non-profit helping families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable home ownership opportunities. Habitat homeowners are empowered to overcome the barriers that so often stand between their families and better, healthier, more financially stable lives.

Why support Habitat PEI, when there are so many worthwhile causes out there? For every $1 invested in Habitat PEI, there’s an incredible $4 societal return to the community we build in. That’s approximately $179,000 return for every Habitat PEI home built.

That’s a big claim—we know.

Where do these numbers come from? Well, they come from increased tax revenue, reduced usage of social housing, increased employment stability, improved health behaviors, greater community & civic engagement, among other things.

Every individual involved with Habitat is empowered to feel safe and encouraged to bring their whole selves to our mission, and they know they are valued, heard, and respected. This work is carried out through meaningful partnerships and engaged communities.
