Ongoing conflict, extreme climate conditions and food insecurity are causing suffering for millions in South Sudan and neighbouring countries.

The brutal conflict has claimed thousands of lives and driven millions of South Sudanese people from their homes. This is the largest refugee crisis in Africa.  

On top of ongoing violence, the fourth a record-breaking rainy season in a row has covered two-thirds of the country in floods. Water has swept away homes and livestock, forcing thousands to flee and has submerged large areas of farmland, compromising food supplies. Water sources are inundated and are at risk of contamination, increasing the risk of disease outbreaks.
