Canadian Women’s Foundation
Investing in women and girls since 1991, the Canadian Women’s Foundation works to support and empower women across the country. Focused on ending violence against women, inspiring young girls to reach their full potential, lifting women out of poverty, and facilitating important research to support women’s’ causes, the Canadian Women’s Foundation has invested in over 1,500 community programs across Canada.
Dress for Success Vancouver
Empowering women to achieve economic independence and thrive in work and in life, Dress for Success Vancouver provides professional attire, career services, and skills development program to women in the Greater Vancouver area. Since launching in 1999, Dress for Success Vancouver has supported over an estimated 27,000 women, and in 2017 alone, their team facilitated 1,931 suitings.
G(irls)20
Inspiring and equipping young women in Canada and globally to take on leadership roles that tackle today’s issues, G(irls)20 is helping girls rise as leaders. Since their start, G(irls)20 has sent 160 girls to participate in their annual global summit where delegates debate and discusses global issues, and then develop recommendations which are presented to G20 leaders.
Immigrant Women Services of Ottawa
Supporting women and children in Ottawa for over 30 years, Immigrant Women Services of Ottawa supports and empowers all women, including women of colour and refugees. Providing culturally appropriate crisis intervention and counselling services, language interpretation, and settlement services, their team supports over 2,000 women every year.
Native Women’s Resource Centre of Toronto
Supporting Indigenous women and children in the Greater Toronto Area, the Native Women Resource Centre of Toronto provides access to resources including housing, education and employment support, culturally specific community programs and other personal healing and family focused services. In 2016/2017 their team supported an estimated 300 women and their families, including housing over 40 families.
