CanadaHelps empowers charities nationwide

For more than 124 years as a social service charity, Fred Victor has been a safe haven for Toronto’s most vulnerable residents. Their primary focus is to alleviate poverty and homelessness by improving health, income, and housing stability. They are also one of many charities that rely on the CanadaHelps Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Social Fundraising platform for engaging participants and rallying supporters to raise funds.

Walking For Hope with Peer-to-Peer Social Fundraising

Despite its rich history, Fred Victor experienced a lack of awareness among the public. To address this, they launched an annual walk-a-thon fundraiser using the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Social Fundraising platform from CanadaHelps. They quickly gained phenomenal participation and support for “Fred’s Walk”—an educational tour about their social services, across 19 sites around the city.

With the help of CanadaHelps’ P2P platform, Fred Victor was able to easily set up team pages, communicate with team captains, share their campaign on social media, and focus more on their participants. The “Fred’s Walk” fundraiser was a tremendous success, surpassing the goal by 42%.
