Unsung Hero

Canada’s Walk of Fame is looking for Canada’s Unsung Hero who has made a big difference in the lives of others.  Named after Canada’s Walk of Fame Founding Director, Peter Soumalias, the award is to be presented to a single Canadian who has inspired others or made a difference through arts, culture or sport.

“These individuals go above and beyond the call of duty and have touched the lives of those in their community, because of their extraordinary actions, words or gifts of kindness and compassion.  Now you can help give them the recognition they deserve.”      – Canada’s Walk of Fame

As part of its inaugural year, the single recipient honoured as Canada’s Unsung Hero will be flown to Toronto, Ontario to accept the award, attend the Canada’s Walk of Fame broadcast and receive a $5000.00 honorarium in addition to other perks.  Nominees can be honoured for  work done as part of their professional career, or volunteerism in the arts, culture, or sports community.

Accepting nominations until Friday, July 31st , the Canada Walk of Fame will announce the winner of the Peter Soumalias Unsung Hero Award this fall.  Show your appreciation for an Unsung Hero in your community and make your nomination now.
