We love it when Canadians who use CanadaHelps share their giving stories with us. We’ve been honoured to share the stories of our readers, and we’re always humbled and inspired from what we hear.
So many of you, our Giving Life community, are generously giving your time and money to make your local communities better places to live. You probably know others doing the same.
Now is the time to tell your story, or that of a deserving friend or family member, to help inspire other Canadians to get involved by nominating someone for The Prime Minister’s Volunteer Awards.
“The Prime Minister’s Volunteer Awards recognize the enormous contributions volunteers, innovative not-for-profit organizations and forward‑thinking businesses make to their communities through voluntary contributions and innovative ideas and approaches to address social challenges. Volunteering, charitable donations and philanthropy all play a key role in helping communities to address these challenges, and these prestigious awards are an opportunity to recognize the tremendous contributions of many Canadians who work together to improve the well-being of families and communities across the country.”
Know a person, business, or nonprofit that fits the bill? You can nominate them until June 23, 2014.
P.S. — Not everyone can win this volunteer award, but everyone deserves a chance to have their story told. We’d love to showcase as many winners and deserving runners up here on our Giving Life blog as possible. Submit your story today! email@example.com.
