With GivingTuesday only one week away, the team at CanadaHelps is excited to launch a one week countdown contest celebrating all things giving—and we invite you to participate!
GivingTuesday follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday and it marks the opening day of the giving season. Happening this year on Tuesday, November 29th, GivingTuesday is a day for Canadians to join together and rally for causes important to them.
This year we’re getting started a little early by asking you to share an #unselfie on social media that tell others what you’ll be doing (or have already done) to celebrate GivingTuesday. Share your #unselfie with us on Facebook or Twitter and you will be entered to WIN a $100 CanadaHelps Charity Gift Card to donate to your favourite charity on CanadaHelps.org. Each day from today through November 28, one person will win, so share yours each day for seven chances to win!
What’s an #unselfie? An #unselfie is a photograph of yourself which showcases a charitable act you’ve performed or are committing to do, in an effort to inspire others to do the same
Need some inspiration? There’s so much you can do to support the causes you care about! Volunteer your time, donate money or goods to a favourite charity, organize a food drive at school or at work, donate blood, or share a cause or charity you care about with your friends or family on social media this Giving Tuesday—this list could go on, so be creative!
So how can you win? Here’s how to enter:
- Print off an #unselfie template (or make your own).
- Use our #unselfie template to write down what you will be doing to celebrate GivingTuesday this Tuesday, November 29.
- Take a photo holding up your #unselfie pledge.
- Tweet at @CanadaHelps or post on our Facebook wall using the hashtag #GivingTuesdayCA. We’ll choose a winner each day and share your photo on GivingTuesday to inspire more people to take action. This is not only a chance to win, but also a chance to tell others about the causes you care about!
